A business plan is the most important and often overlooked part of running or starting a business, expanding an existing business or obtaining finance for a business. If a plan is developed effectively, the success rate for the purpose of the plan rises exponentially, whether it is to start, expand or run a business, and/or obtain finance for the business. A well developed Business Plan leaves less room for errors and failure. While you cannot predict everything that happens in a company’s future, a good Business Plan helps you to avoid certain pitfalls, overcome obstacles and anticipate and create business opportunities. When you do encounter obstacles and lots of problems, having a Plan in place, integrated into the business, provides you with a system and mechanism to effectively deal with challenges, often turning these challenges into manageable situations or even future opportunities.

If your business planning makes sense, as in, does it fill a specific want or need and can that need be met, if it is feasible, as in, are there people or businesses who would be interested in buying your product or service at a price that works for you and them explore potential risk, how to avoid some and how to manage others, costs of starting it and keeping it going and financial outlook. It can relate the business plan to current and anticipated resource levels. Generally, each organization has an element, large or small, of unutilized resources. The strategic business plan is the tool that identifies and effectively uses such dormant resources.

The Painful Truth of Network Marketing

June 26th, 2010 by admin

If the leadership is strong and the product is good and generally used, then the company has a good chance of succeeding. The problem with network marketing companies is that they tend to sell the dream. You know, retiring young with a strong residual income having built your team and having secured financial freedom. Unfortunately though this is not always the case.

In my own personal experience, I have been involved with two network marketing companies. Now what I do not want to do in this article is to condemn network marketing companies. I merely want to tell the truth about my own experiences. Where I was, what I did and where I am today. The first network marketing company I was with a low ticket online network marketing company. Their product was vitamins and it worked well for me up to a point. I was running my business 100% online and was earning a solid 4 figure income cheque every month. Then after about 15 months in the business, the network marketing company in question changed their compensation plan. My residual income got downsized by about 60%. I was really angry with the leadership of the company and unfortunately so were a lot of my team. A number of my team left after the compensation plan change and within 4 weeks I left also.

My second experience was with a personal development company where again it was a low ticket opportunity. I really enjoyed this companies product as I received every month personal development information to my door. On the business side, I experienced attrition. I signed up over 70 people into this company but duplication was difficult. I think everyone experienced this and in the end the company was sold to network marketing travel company. Again a lot of distributors got very upset as incomes were lost overnight.

Finally for some positivity!!. I do not regret any of the experiences I have had in my online business because they have made me who I am today. I no longer do MLM or network marketing. My business now is high ticket direct sales. Here is the difference. In direct sales if you make a sale today, you get paid today and you get paid handsomely. No waiting for paychecks. No worrying about attrition in your down line. No big monthly auto ship. Also with high ticket direct sales, you only need to make a couple of sales per month to have a five figure monthly income.
